Thanks for the great feedback

Sunday, January 27, 2008

Here is a big thanks to all of you for sharing your thoughts and ideas. We need and value your input.

One thing I want to mention is that we do present the chord grids and tab for each song segment. These images are an important part of bridging the gap between the printed page and the video and every song has this graphic included at the start of each song segment. You just pause the video, and view the grids and tab for that segment as long as you like. You can also use the chapter feature in the lower right hand corner of the Quick Time window to skip right to the grids & tab or any other song segment.

On the "About Us Page" there is a video that outlines the features of the download. If you haven't yet, check that out. It will fill in some more blanks for you.

Meanwhile, share the news about iVideosongs with your buds. For those about to rock...we salute you.

Welcome to iVideosongs

Hi and welcome to the iVideosongs beta. We started iVideosongs with one goal in mind: to show you how to play complete songs, accurately.

It's been a lot of fun working toward this goal. Everyone here is passionate about playing music and about helping others enjoy the same experience. Plus we've been able to meet some incredible people along the way -- aspiring musicians who talked with us about their love of music and their desire to become better players.

We got a lot of positive feedback about presenting complete and accurate songs. Musicians of every skill level told us they pick up their instruments more often and enjoy the experience more when they are playing songs. They also told us that theory and scales and technique seem to come more naturally and easily when they are learned in the context of a song.

We heard something similar from established musicians, including artists who have performed in sold-out concert halls and charted platinum hits. They talked to us about their songs, too, and about the special kind of connection that happens when they teach a fan how to play them.

So we start with the song and add world class instructors. Each of our instructors is a formally trained teacher with a great background in music education. And then we make it one louder, with some titles instructed by the original artists who wrote and performed the songs.

We also like the idea of putting musicians in control. So the titles live on your computer, iPod or other device, and you can learn and develop your skills on your schedule. The songs are divided into chapters, so you can learn the intro, verse, chorus etc piece by piece, and at your own speed.

We're in beta and that means we're hungry for your input. Please let us know how we're doing, what you like and what we can do better. Drop a note to support@ivideosongs.com, or comment in this blog. And come back often, because we have a boatload of titles that will get introduced to our site on a weekly basis. . We have a saying at iVideosongs. "Loyal fans listen to music. Passionate fans play music." We welcome you to a community of players.
