iVideosongs Shows How to Play Guitar Hero® and Rock Band® Songs

ALPHARETTA, GA - December 31, 2008 - Guitar Hero® and Rock Band® gamers looking to graduate to playing real instruments will find some of their favorite tunes at iVideosongs this week, including hits by Blink 182, Jet, The All American Rejects, Modest Mouse and OK GO. iVideosongs, which features more than 50 songs from the game series and more than 200 overall in its catalog, offers high def video titles that show aspiring musicians how to accurately play complete songs.

All the Small Things is the pop punk hit recorded by Blink 182 on their 2000 album, Enema of the State. iVideosongs shows how to play the complete guitar part, including the heavy palm-muted rhythms, 8th note strumming and even the overdubs featured in the recording. All the Small Things, which is featured in the Rock Band game series, is challenging but within the reach of many beginning-level players.

iVideosongs presents a Jet double feature: guitar and bass parts for Are You Gonna Be My Girl. Featured on their 2003 album, Get Born, Are You Gonna Be My Girl rocketed the band to fame after being featured in an Apple television commercial and subsequently in the Rock Band game series. iVideosongs shows how to play the relentless rhythm guitar part that drives this rock hit, and that is terrific for building right arm endurance. The guitar title also shows how to play the relatively easy solo, which is fun-to-play and a good exercise for beginners to develop proficiency in bending. Bass players will see how to play the challenging bottom line, including a left hand muting technique and syncopated rhythms.

Dirty Little Secret was recorded by the All American Rejects on their 2005 release, Move Along. This title helps develop the important eighth note rock rhythm style used in hundreds of songs. In this intermediate-level song, iVideosongs shows how to play the layered rhythm guitar parts, melodic solo, "half-time bridge" technique along with a number of open, power and barre chords for best effect. Dirty Little Secret is featured in the Rock Band series.

Float On was recorded by Modest Mouse on their 2004 album Good News for People Who Love Bad News. In this title, iVideosongs shows how to play the electric guitar parts from this #1 hit. Players interested in a modern rock sound will enjoy learning the chord fragments, arpeggios, and single note lead lines that comprise this song's strong rhythmic groove. Played on an electric guitar in standard tuning, Float On, featured in both Guitar Hero and Rock Band, is a good challenge for beginning-level players.

Here it Goes Again was recorded by OK GO on the 2006 album Oh No. iVideosongs shows how to play both of the guitar parts from the modern pop hit, including all of the fingerings and chord progressions and also the barre chords used in the song. Here it Goes Again, featured in Rock Band, is accessible to beginning-level guitarists.

Each of these songs is instructed by an expert member of the iVideosongs staff. Each is complete and accurate, and each includes embedded tablature and chord grids.

iVideosongs shows aspiring musicians everywhere how to play their favorite songs completely and accurately, with the instruction provided by the original artists who wrote and performed them, and also from expert instructors.

iVideosongs has licensed full rights to its songs from BMG Music Publishing, EMI Music Publishing, Sony/ATV Music Publishing, Universal Music Publishing Group, Warner/Chappell Music and also many secondary and tertiary publishers. This allows the company to provide complete and accurate instructional titles, presented exactly as they were originally written and performed. The iVideosongs titles are primarily for electric and acoustic guitarists, but titles for bass, keyboards and drums are also included in the catalog.

iVideosongs offers three kinds of music instruction content. Tutorials designed to improve basic to advanced skills are available free of charge. iVideosongs customers can choose a skill level and genre, and then download the high-def titles to their personal computer, iPod or other device. Each song title is presented in chapter format, so aspiring musicians learn the introduction, verse, chorus, bridge, outro and other elements in bite-size pieces and at their own pace. Each title also includes a master performance so customers can compare their progress against the song, and tablature notation to aid in learning. Titles featuring artists also include an interview segment, where they reveal the inspiration and influences that went into the creation of the song.
