What you will learn
Canon in D was originally composed by Johann Pachelbel during the Baroque period in 1680. In this iVideosongs title, instructor Rob Schumann shows you how to play a solo guitar arrangement of this popular piece, which was originally written for three violins and bass. For intermediate-level guitarists unfamiliar with classical fingerstyle technique, Rob demonstrates the most efficient fingerings in the left and right hands along with the fundamental concepts needed to play a melody and chords simultaneously. This arrangement can be played on an acoustic nylon or steel string guitar in Dropped D tuning. Notation, tablature, and chord grids are included for all video segments.
